About Us

The Art at Wharepuke gallery is run by Mark Graver (MA Printmaking, Camberwell College of Arts, London,UK) and Tania Booth (BA. Christchurch, NZ) and was established to complement the Wharepuke Print Studio and the other existing on site businesses -

Mark is a painter and printmaker and is the author of Non-Toxic Printmaking ( A&C Black, London, 2011) and it is through Mark’s connections with printmakers around the world that many of the shows have developed.

He runs the Wharepuke Print Studio, NZ’s only dedicated non toxic fine art printmaking workshop specialising in Acrylic Resist Etching and has his work in public and private collections worldwide including The National Gallery of Fine Art, Taiwan, the CONARTE collection, Mexico, The Douro Museum of Printmaking, Portugal and the Painting and Sculpture Museums Association, Istanbul. In New Zealand he exhibits at Solander gallery, Wellington.

In June 2010 he was awarded First Prize at the Lessedra World Art Print exhibition in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Mark runs courses onsite for those wanting to learn non-toxic techniques from beginners to professional development.

Tania studied painting at Christchurch, manages 5 eco cottages on site and has assisted uncle Chris Booth sculptor on projects in New Zealand and around the world including' Nga Uri o Hinetuparimaunga', Hamilton, 'Slip', Connells Bay, Waiheke Island and 'In Celebration of a Tor', Grizedale,UK.
